Seniors at Home Program
New Hope Construction’s Seniors at Home program was developed to provide quality housing at affordable prices for senior citizens with low income. The goal of Seniors at Home is to produce quality housing for seniors who are living in inadequate conditions based on either structural insecurity or impractical financial situations. The Seniors at Home project will oversee the production of the pre-framed house packages, along with construction of these house packages through utilization of volunteer workers.
Applicants for the Seniors at Home program are chosen by New Hope Construction based on the following criteria: Age, need, ability to pay, land ownership, and their willingness to partner.
If chosen for a Seniors at Home house, New Hope Construction will sell the applicant their house at no profit and offer a 0% mortgage.
Setting Up a Program in Your Area
Setting up a local Seniors at Home program requires interested community individuals. After contacting us, we will guide you through setting up volunteer committees who will assist in recruiting and qualifying applicants, supporting applicants through the building process, and the construction of homes.
NHC will obtain funds necessary to build the home plus deliver a high quality pre-framed house package to the build site, and handle all the administrative work (contracts, closing, etc...)
Your first step is to contact NHC Seniors at Home department by calling toll free 1-877-642-4673, ext. 27. Your following step will be to recruit others in your community to partner in helping their senior neighbors and establish a Seniors at Home program in your community!

How
Seniors at Home
Works
Seniors at Home
Works
Volunteers from the community assist in all aspects of the project, including family selection and support, and construction. NHC provides program guidance and financing. NHC has certified trainers who provide homeowners education, which includes mortgage financing, household budgeting, credit worthiness, and home maintenance. The pre-framed house package is shipped to the site from NHC where it is built by the construction crew.
Upon completion of the house, it will be sold to the senior(s) at no-profit. Then, NHC will provide the senior up to a 30 year, zero percent interest mortgage. The principal from these mortgage payments is used to support the building of more homes. The term of the mortgage will be set so that the mortgage payment, principal, insurance, and taxes will not exceed 27% of their gross household income.
