Welcome to the Seniors at Home blog. Since our program began in 2006, New Hope Construction has built over 40 homes in the Tennessee and Kentucky area. We are very excited about our continuing opportunities to bring affordable housing to very low-income senior adults. Our next project is Phase 3, the final phase of the Seniors at Home Village of Dunlap in Sequatchie County, Tennessee. We will soon begin construction on the first 2 townhomes of a 16 house build. When completed, the Village will have 47 families. This subdivision is nestled in the Sequatchie Valley in Dunlap, with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Each house is 2 bedroom, 1 bath with an attached garage. Most of the houses are townhomes and are joined at the garage wall. There are also a few individual houses. When terrain allows, a zero-step exterior entry is built, allowing the homeowner access to into the house without having to step up. We also include EnergyStar windows. Most homeowners realize a substantial savings in utility bills from their previous residence. The mortgage is zero per cent, and monthly payments are structured individually based on what the homeowner can afford.

Volunteer duties include family support, meals for the construction crew, and construction of the houses.
